📖 Beyond Belief

The Science-Backed Way to Stop Limiting Yourself and Achieve Breakthrough Results by Nir Eyal

“...This is psychological warfare on your negative beliefs…Wonderful book..”

—Librarian 1738954 (NetGalley.com)

What if the real obstacle isn't your effort, your discipline, or your circumstances, but what you believe is possible?

In Beyond Belief, Nir Eyal reveals one counterintuitive truth: these beliefs aren't facts. They're tools.

Released March 10, 2026

The core idea behind the book:

Most people go through life unaware of the beliefs running in the background—shaping every decision, filtering every opportunity, determining what feels “possible.”

Think of beliefs like an operating system.

When you open your computer, you don’t see the OS making thousands of decisions per second. But it quietly determines what the machine can and can’t do.

Your beliefs work the same way. They’re invisible code deciding moment by moment

  • what you’ll notice

  • what you’ll try

  • what you’ll avoid

  • what’s “for people like you”

  • and what isn’t

The catch is that your computer’s OS was installed by engineers. Your belief system was installed mostly by accident:

  • childhood experiences

  • offhand comments

  • past failures you over-interpreted

  • cultural messages you absorbed without questioning

Beyond Belief upgrades that system, replacing limiting beliefs that kill motivation (“I’m not good at presentations”) with liberating beliefs that sustain it (“I can deliver value even when I’m nervous”).

A SIMPLE FRAMEWORK IN THE BOOK

The Motivation Triangle:

  1. Behavior: what you need to do

  2. Benefit: what you’ll get from doing it

  3. Belief: your conviction that the behavior will lead to the benefit

Most people don’t quit because they don’t know what to do (behavior) OR because they don’t want the outcome (benefit). They quit because their belief collapses.

If you can identify the belief that collapses first, you can finally stop repeating the same cycle.
